While visiting his brother in Boston, Rishab Jain discovered the shockingly low survival rates for people with pancreatic cancer — a rate that hasn’t improved much in 40 years. But Jain’s new discovery might make all the difference.
One of the major challenges in treating pancreatic cancer is the difficulty in locating the pancreas for radiation treatment. Jain’s invention, PCDLS Net, is an artificial-intelligence-based tool that allows doctors to more accurately locate the pancreas for more precise radiation treatment (which will prevent the damaging of healthy cells in the process).
