Every night until the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day on November 11, 2018, the Tower of London displayed a remembrance ceremony titled Beyond the Deepening Shadow. The show featured 10,000 candles floating in the moat around the tower.

The ceremony began with service men and women moving from the Tower to light the first flame with a group of volunteers, who continued until the entire moat was filled with light.
The event seems appropriate for the month of November, when we all make a special effort to remember and honor of all those who have passed — beloved saints as well as all those who have impacted our lives in ways both great and small.
