Fans of C.S. Lewis’ TheChronicles of Narnia have so far had the chance to see three of the installments on the big screen. Disney produced film adaptations of the Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (2005) and Prince Caspian (2008), and Fox released The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010). With four more installments left unexplored, it seemed the adaptations might end there — until now.
Netflix recently announced a partnership with the C.S. Lewis Company to release new adaptations of stories from the Narnia universe. Though no details have been announced, they have promised to deliver both film and TV series adaptations, which will include the famous The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
“C.S. Lewis’ beloved Chronicles of Narnia stories have resonated with generations of readers around the world. Families have fallen in love with characters like Aslan and the entire world of Narnia, and we’re thrilled to be their home for years to come,” Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer at Netflix, told the Hollywood Reporter.
