Doctor uses his skills to put a smile on a young boy's face.

A Canadian surgeon recently took his vocation to a whole new level by operating on a young patient’s teddy bear  — who’d been diagnosed as having a torn underarm — replete with mask, gloves, and an oxygen mask for the cuddly toy.

In the charming story shared on Twitter, Dr. Daniel McNeely explained how his human patient, eight-year-old Jackson McKie, was about to go into surgery when he asked his doctor to take care of his beloved Little Bear. Dr. McNeely, who’s been looking after Jackson, who suffers from hydrocephalus, since he was born, found it very hard to deny his patient’s request.

Ever the professional, he set about fixing the bear’s traumatic injury — after all, there’s nothing worse than a bear missing his stuffing! With the bear lying on the table surrounded by surgical equipment, Dr. McNeely, used his impressive skills to make Little Bear as good as new. After the successful procedure, the kind-hearted surgeon embarked on fixing a shunt in Jackson’s brain.

Thankfully both operations were a success, with Jackson and his bear convalescing together. In just a few minutes, Dr. McNeely took patient care to a whole new level, while demonstrating the joy in his vocation.
