The number of saints being canonized who hail from the Far East has been growing rapidly over the last decade, with Popes Francis and Benedict beatifying and canonizing many who died while spreading the Gospel. A lot of these worthy individuals were martyred for their beliefs at a very young age and their undying faith allowed them to meet their death with grace and love in their hearts. Many met their deaths during tumultuous times, even in more recent history, with thousands of Catholics slaughtered for converting to Christianity.
Given the heroic virtues of these individuals, their names would be an honor for your little one to bear. While many of the holy men we’ve highlighted here adopted European saints’ names, we have included their full names to inspire you in your choice of name for your little one.
