On the first Sunday of May in the town of Panchimalco in El Salvador, residents and pilgrims celebrate the “Festival of Flowers and Palms,” honoring the Blessed Mother under the titles of Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. A joyful procession with dancing and portable altars decorated with flowers and palms winds through the twisty streets following the opening celebration.
