The Catholic faithful celebrate the announcement on March 7, 2018, that Pope Francis signed decrees allowing the canonization of Pope Paul VI (1963-1978) and Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero, in San Salvador. Pope Paul VI, who oversaw sweeping reforms of the Catholic Church in the 1960s, will be canonized along with Salvadoran Archbishop Romero, who was shot dead while celebrating Mass, the Vatican said on Wednesday.
