The Holy See wants to start a global conversation with young people through #Synod2018.

The Synod of Bishops that the Catholic Church will hold in October 2018 on the subject of young people will be preceded by a global dialog, thanks to social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

For the first time in history, the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops, following Pope Francis’ instructions, has announced its presence on social networks to open a global dialog on the topic of the Synod: “Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment.”

The General Secretariat of the Synod reported that the social network profiles connected to Synod2018 would be opened as a space for interaction and information regarding the preparatory work for the Synod on Young People.

Thus, the hashtag #Synod2018 has just been launched for use in all languages.

The one-stop information source for the preparatory activities for the synodal assembly is the website, where there is an online survey open to all young people of the world.

Social networks will also be a decisive instrument for communicating with the nearly 300 young people of the world whom Pope Francis has convoked to participate in the pre-synodal meeting this March in Rome.

As desired by the pope, participation will not be limited to Catholic young people, but will also include representatives of other Christian denominations and other religions.

“We must listen to young people,” said Pope Francis in one of his speeches in preparation for the Synod. “To that end, the conclusions of the meeting in March will be communicated to the Synod Fathers.”

These are the channels for participating in the preparation of the Synod on young people:
