A jazzy interpretation of “Carol of the Bells” by Voices of Lee

J-P Mauro - published on 12/23/17

These students display superb talent in celebration of Christmas.

Voices of Lee released this new arrangement of “Carol of the Bells” earlier this month. They interspersed new refrains of “Merry Christmas” to give the tune a darker, jazzier feel. We especially loved how they used the beat boxer and bass voice to make a quick breakdown about half a minute in.

Voices of Lee is an a cappella group from Lee University who became popular after competing on the talent show The Sing-Off. They perform “Carol of the Bells” with just their voices, and culminate the piece in a glorious high note.

The way they build tension is superb. This arrangement is quickly becoming our favorite version of the popular carol.
