This year there are a few holiday ads out there that truly celebrate the spirit of giving that brings out the best in people at Christmastime. While the ads are meant to sell products, they highlight the gift of love – offering oneself to another.
1. Macy’s “Lighthouse: The Perfect Gift Brings People Together”
This beautiful ad from Macy’s tells the story about a boy whose neighbors are a girl who has recently lost her mother and her lighthouse keeper father. When the boy receives the “perfect gift” at Christmas he knows exactly what to do with it, offering a little bit of Christmas joy to the girl and her father — and to everyone in his own family.
2. HP’s “Reinvent Giving”
HP’s heart-warming new ad shows how a little creativity can be used for the good as a young woman reaches out to a little girl left all alone on a winter evening. In doing so, the young woman enlists the help of other solitary apartment dwellers.
3. German grocery chain Penny’s “Path”
This ad packs the biggest emotional wallop and reminds us that the gift of forgiveness is perhaps the most precious of all.
