More and more, designers and companies alike are looking to create more accessible clothing for people with disabilities. Whether looking at the aesthetics of how mobility equipment affects silhouettes or the practical challenges of getting dressed and undressed, many designers are seeking to bring fashion to everyone.

Most recently, Tommy Hilfiger has joined the movement, releasing a line of clothing intended for those with disabilities. Shirts that fasten with magnets, adjustable hems, and pull-on loops are just some of the additions that will help people with disabilities in their daily lives.

Hilfiger has called it “the democratization of fashion.” “These collections continue to build on that vision, empowering differently abled adults to express themselves through fashion,” he says.

Hilfiger has also partnered with Runway of Dreams, a non-profit founded dedicated to accessible fashion. With so many joining forces for this important cause, it might not be long before accessible fashion becomes a normalized part of this industry.
