A radio journey into the childhood of C.S. Lewis

NARNIA

Ian Burt | CC

Zelda Caldwell - published on 10/31/17

The author’s upbringing in Northern Ireland was inspiration for his Narnia stories.

As temperatures drop and days get shorter, now seems a lovely time for a cup of tea and a diverting play on the radio. Yes, we know it’s 2017, and not 1937, but don’t knock it until you try it.

BBC 4 internet radio always has a wonderful selection of free dramas, short stories and novels available for listening, and for the next month they are featuring a performance of “The Northern Irish Man in CS Lewis.”

The hour-long drama takes you on a journey through the author’s early years in Northern Ireland – years that inspired his magical Chronicles of Narnia stories.
