1 Billion hits for “Call Me Maybe”? How about 1 billion vocations for “Convent Maybe”

J-P Mauro - published on 10/23/17

Send this to someone you think would make a good nun.

This is a really cute parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s 2012 hit song,

Jepsen wrote the tune as a folk song, but it was later turned to pop and took the world by storm. “Call Me Maybe” reached #1 in Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. The song was nominated for two Grammy awards and was MTV’s 2012 Song of the Year. As of today it has been viewed on Youtube more than one billion times.

In 2012, Christine, a junior at NC State University, was discerning a call to religious life when she felt inspired to make this adorable cover. She convinced her friend, who remained nameless, to sing the tune with her and the rest is history.

This video is a wonderful example of the joy that the younger generation is bringing to their vocations. Why not send this around to any young woman you think would make a good nun?
