Firefighter battling California wildfires leaves inspiring text for son

As we see the heartbreaking images of the path of destruction left by the devastating wildfires in California’s wine country, our prayers are with the dozens of people who have been killed and the thousands who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

This message from Pat, who has been fighting wildfires all week puts things into perspective, and reminds us all “not to worry about little things.” ABC7 News reports that in a text message to his son Brooklyn, Pat wrote:

“Goodnight guys. Love u so much. Try not to worry about little things. I’ve seen so much devastation and heartbreak in last 5 days. Some got out with only their lives, others not as lucky. Think how blessed we r. Lov each other. I’ll b home soon.. Miss u.”
