The “ICU Grandpa” rocks the tiniest babies to sleep

“They call him the ICU Grandpa. On Tuesdays, he visits the PICU to hold babies whose parents can’t be with them that day. On Thursdays, he makes rounds in the NICU,” read the hospital’s Facebook post, which has been shared over 15,000 times since yesterday.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and this one of David, “a legend of a hospital volunteer who’s been holding patients, and their parents’ hands, for 12 years,” shows the kindness and compassion of someone who knows what a little love can do in a child’s life.
