A book left out in the rain, caught in a hurricane or high tide, or perhaps dropped in the tub is usually headed straight for recycling bin.
Water and paper do not work well together – and what was once an attractive slim volume of prose is likely now a wavy, bloated and crumbling mess that looks more like an archaeological find than a prized book from your collection.
