In his address to the UN General Assembly last Tuesday, President Donald Trump affirmed the U.S. would “totally destroy” North Korea if “forced to defend itself or its allies.” His statement was in response to Kim Jong-un’s defiance of the UN ban by continuing to develop North Korea’s nuclear weapon program. Referring to the North Korean leader, President Trump also said “Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and his regime.”
According to the BBC, the first official response by the North Korean regime came from Ri Yong-ho, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who told reporters in New York, near the UN headquarters, that “even when dogs bark, the parade goes on. If [Trump] was thinking about surprising us with the sound of a barking dog then he is clearly dreaming.”
