Those who have had the fortune to be born in Florence, the cradle of the Italian Renaissance, are quite familiar with Giotto’s Campanile (one of the three buildings that make up the impressive architectural ensemble known as Santa María del Fiore, the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flowers), the Palazzo Pitti, the Ospedale Degli Innocenti, the church of Santa Maria Novella and many other great architectural jewels.
