This composite photograph shows the progress of the moon across the path of the sun beginning at 2:00 p.m. EST and ending around 3:25 p.m. EST at Saint Mary of the Pines Church in Manahawkin, New Jersey. The solar eclipse in the northeast was at about 75 percent of totality.
The shot was only possible by using a plastic lens that was removed from a set of welding goggles and fitted into the filter slot in the lens!
