Anna Hofmann is an up-and-comer in the opera world. She spent her youth enrolled at the University of Music “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, and took her skills to Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music for graduate work.
The many years of intensive vocal study have made her voice strong and skilled. Her support is wonderful and her use of dynamic is exceptional. It’s no easy feat to sing soft notes so clearly.
Hofmann rents her skills out for parties and private events. She obviously takes great pride in designing a program that would best suit each occasion, and has a wide-ranging repertoire that covers many famous aria, opera, operetta, and oratorio.
“Domine Deus” is part of the liturgical canticle Gloria in excelsis Deo. Vivaldi wrote 3 different settings of the Gloria. It is unclear which setting this is from, but it is most likely his second, more popular version. The larger work would require a full chorus, but the “Domine Deus” is more often written for solo soprano, or a small 4 piece chorus.
