Medieval fashion trends you might try this summer

Most people think of the Middle Ages as a single, homogeneous time. Needless to say, 10 centuries (from the “fall” of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century to the Renaissance in the 15th) are more than enough time to see some changes happen, whether in architecture (as in going from Romanesque to Gothic, for instance), theology (what we commonly refer to as either Patristic or Scholastic philosophy and theology), or even fashion.

Medievalists.net did it again. This time, they put together a collection of images from medieval manuscripts that allow us to follow the changes in fashion over these 10 centuries, from the Roman-imitating Carolingians to the very-well-dressed 13th-century Italians.
