Rebecca Roubion takes her father’s lessons everywhere she goes

J-P Mauro - published on 06/21/17

Her music video is a tribute to the bond between father and daughter.

Emerging artist Rebecca Roubion is just what we needed; a sweet voice and a wholesome sound. She dropped her first EP, Sleepless Nights, in 2016, and just last week came out with the official music video for her tune “Anywhere I Go.”

Roubion began writing songs out of her high school journal. Her first heartbreak became her first song. After graduating from LSU she tracked vocals on a friend’s record, which drew the attention of LA executives.

Ultimately, she refused their vision for her to be “the next Sheryl Crow,” choosing the much harder road to success as an indi-folk artist, rather than a pop-rock star.

We couldn’t be more thankful, since the result is this charming, personal folk music with a tinge of jazz.

“Anywhere I Go” is obviously about Roubion’s father. The music video shows homemade footage of the special little moments between father and daughter.

It was an excellent choice for her to use a ukulele in this song. Made by some of the happiest, most laid-back people in the world, the ukulele adds an innocent timbre which fits the subject matter perfectly.
