There was a time when a knowledge of the world’s great works of art was reserved for the leisured class – those who could make the Grand Tour of Europe and those who could sit at the feet of university art historians. Today, thanks to free, open online courses, these great works of art are available to all.
This online course, taught by Dr. Vida Hull of East Tennessee State University, takes a leisurely stroll through the Renaissance, stopping to admire and analyze the works of Michelangelo, Raphael, da Vinci, Fra Angelico and other artists of the time. Bonus: you can watch the slide-show at your own pace with no danger of being caught napping in a sleep-inducing, dark auditorium.
