As if we needed more reasons to believe that all mamas are wonder women!

As further proof that women are fierce and formidable, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot told Entertainment Weekly that she did reshoots of a battle scene while 5 months pregnant, particularly impressing director Patty Jenkins:

For Jenkins, the reshoots served as another reminder of Gadot’s tireless work ethic. “She’s pregnant during part of the movie, in a suit out in a field in the freezing cold in others,” she says. “There are so many things we asked her to do: Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you’re doing it. Now it’s raining in the freezing cold and you’ve lost your voice, go. Everyday it was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it.”

Because Gadot was visibly pregnant, they filmed the scenes with a triangle of bright green cloth on the front of her suit, which would allow the special effects team to alter it post-production. She claimed the wide shots were hilarious, because she looked like “Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog.”

Gadot is no stranger to physical demands, having served as a combat instructor in the Israeli Defense Forces. But even women without military backgrounds have given demanding film performances while pregnant–Catherine Zeta-Jones famously filmed a few dance segments of Chicago while 4 months pregnant, and Emily Blunt was pregnant with her first child while she filmed Into the Woods.
