Bocelli is back with “The Lord’s Prayer.” Accompanied by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, this concert is from Christmas 2009. Andrea’s signature tenor voice soars over chorus and orchestra alike.

This setting of “The Lord’s Prayer” was composed by Albert Hay Malotte, in 1935. It has remained a popular solo for church services and religious concerts. The bombastic music paired with “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever” is very reminiscent of early film scores, of which Malotte wrote 10 between 1929 and 1959.
