When Ferris and Margaret Romaire took part in a photo shoot to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary, they proved that love really can grow with age. The pair, who met in high school, got married in 1946 but unfortunately had no photos taken during their nuptials. So seven decades later they decided it was high time they had some official photos to stick in their wedding album.
The devoted couple, elegantly dressed for the occasion, still seemed so youthful as Margaret used her veil to place over her groom’s head as she lovingly embraced him. While these adorable tender shots can’t help but make us admire their long-lasting love, they also give us an important reminder that we should take the time to celebrate the beauty of marriage — don’t forget to take precious care of your own wedding veil (and gown for those lucky enough to still fit in it!) as you never know when you might want to have a little fun celebrating your own married life.
The Romaires’ story has now been documented in a book by the Love What Matters team that is full of inspirational and moving stories, and it feels only right that the Romaires should be featured in it.
