Maestro Antonio Stradivari was a famous Italian luthier, especially known for the exceptional quality of his violins, considered by many to be the greatest craftsman in his trade. However, it is less known that Master Stradivari also made guitars. Of the five Stradivari guitars that remain to date, only one, the “Sabionari,” can still be played, according to Classic FM.
In this video, the Norwegian baroque maestro Rolf Lislevand interprets, on the Sabionari, a Tarantela by Santiago de Murcia, the great composer and guitarist of the Spanish Baroque. Take a few minutes to appreciate the unique sound of this guitar.
