Matt Maher’s ‘Because He Lives’ might be the cornerstone of your Easter Sunday soundtrack

Daniel Esparza - published on 04/16/17

Included in his most recent album, “Saints and Sinners,” “Because he lives” is indeed a powerful anthem/march celebrating the Resurrection.

If you’re not familiar with Matt Maher’s music, well, you should be. Chances are you saw him playing at the Rally for Youth and Seminarians in Yonkers, New York, when Pope Benedict XIV visited the US in 2008. Or, maybe you bumped into a video of his performance at World Youth Day 2013, in Rio de Janeiro, in front of 4 million people (including Pope Francis).

But if you haven’t seen him (and if you’ve missed his seven solo albums as well) — or you, know, even if you are a longtime fan — make sure you turn up the volume on this beautiful live rendition of his song “Because He Lives,” included in his seventh studio album, Saints and Sinners.

Happy Easter!
