In the past week, glimmers of hope began to emerge for those rooting for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner rekindling their marriage. First were reports that Garner had called off the divorce, and then today, Affleck posted an update on Facebook that sheds light on some of his past questionable behavior—and offers even more hope along with a beautiful picture of what even the most imperfect parents (and aren’t we all!) can model for their children.
Every parent messes up. Every parent makes mistakes. And like Ben, every parent, has the opportunity to seek help—without shame. It’s a thrill to hear that he’s completed his first steps. Now, to wishing Ben many more wonderful steps—and hoping he, along with Jennifer and their kids, find the peace and continued support we all need.
