‘La Luna’: Pixar’s short film teaching us how to let ourselves be taught

An old man, an adult and a boy are together in a rowboat, in the middle of the night. As they row into the deep sea, the child receives, from his elders, an initiatory object that marks his breakthrough into maturity: a beret, the garment that finally allows him to take part in their mission, as they venture into the high seas (and beyond). But both the old man and the adult happen to have their own way of doing things. Successive generational gaps separate and, paradoxically, unite them. What follows is a brief but touching work day that invites you to let yourself be taught by those you would never think you could learn something from.
