“If an individual is to accept himself, someone must say to him: ‘It is good that you exist’ – must say it, not with words, but with that act of the entire being that we call love.” — Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
Grant Kessler, a teenager from Ohio, was so excited to become an uncle that when he heard his sister Olivia was about to give birth, he put on a suit to meet his new niece in the hospital. He did it because he believes “first impressions matter,” and he wanted to “show his respect” to welcome the newest member of his family, Carter Ray. Kessler said he wanted his niece to know just how valued she was from the very beginning. “When Carter’s older, I wanted her to look back and look at those pictures of the day she was born and see the like, respect and attention she was getting that day,” he told NBC affiliate WCMH-TV. “I think me wearing the suit was a small part of that.”
