Let the advent music begin! First Sunday prepare us for Christ’s Second coming

It is the hour now for your to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

During the first Sunday of Advent we turn our focus to the first and second comings of Christ. We prepare our hearts for the Lord and appropriately sing out, O Come, O Come Emmanuel!

It’s difficult to pick a favorite among all the versions of the classic Advent hymn. Sufjan Stevens’

deserves to be a modern classic, and who doesn’t love a good

<span class="css-pelz90">a cappella version?</span>

But the above version by Lindsey Stirling is particularly inspiring.

We’ve featured the renowned violinist here before.Stirling has gained millions of followers from her contemporary covers and original pieces alike. What’s so special about this piece? Her guest pianist: Kuha’o Case.

The young prodigy can listen to any song once or twice and immediately play back his own rendition on the piano. And not only is he self taught, he accomplished all of this without his sight.

Born two months premature, he weighed 2 lbs 2oz at birth. The doctors quickly intervened performing an operation that saved his life, but took his sight. His message, he says, “is that regardless of our circumstances, we can achieve greatness.”
