An interactive map of Homer’s Odyssey

After spending ten years in the Trojan war, Ulysses would finally head back home. And thus a trip that should have lasted just a few weeks, crossing the Aegean, the Mediterranean and the Ionian Sea in order to reach the west coast of Greece, ended up being, strictly speaking, an odyssey.

Thanks to this map, published by ESRI, you can now follow the literally epic (and bumpy, to say the least) ride of Ulysses, as he goes back to Ithaca. And even if the map by itself lacks the proper aesthetic enjoyment of reading the Homeric poem, it is nevertheless not only useful, but surely inspiring.
