I believe in human beings who dare to be human.
This time it’s to illuminate that the monastery of St. Katherine is not an actress dressed as a nun but a nun in the shoes of an actress. Sr. Cristina took on the role of Sr. Mary Roberta (played exceptionally well) as part of cast of Sister Act, in production until January 31 at the Teatro Brancaccio. Directed by Saverio Marconi, it is the story of a young novice who is faces the most important choice of her life.
In 1992, played by Whoopi Goldberg (to the tune of “I Will Follow Him), her character brought the extraordinary talent, hitherto hidden, of a small group of nuns before the Holy Father. Just like in the movie, St. Cristina, through her experience teaches us to discover our talents to make a gift.
But it is not always an easy road, so we asked her advice for our readers.
Sr. Christina said, “I believe in dreams [and] believe in you too! Although everything seems dark, believe that in the end there is always a ready light to illuminate your journey! Never lose heart!”
In your opinion, what is the secret of happiness?
Her reply: “The simplicity!”
What passage from the Gospel is most meaningful for you?
“The Parable of the Prodigal Son. I think it contains one of the most intense gospel messages which also this year in Santo is accompanying us: the Year of Mercy!
What do you wish for the world in 2016?
In view of the sad and tragic truths that affect us daily, I wish the world to first discover inner peace — one that springs from the soul — and then share it with everyone.
Also, thanks to this invitation from the Holy Church to celebrate the Year of Mercy, 2016 is a pefect opportunity to be merciful with ourselves and others! Happy 2016!
