While speaking to a large group of consecrated men and women from around the world last week, Pope Francis told the story of how he came to wear a small crucifix from an Iraqi priest who was martyred for his Christian faith.
This video clip, from Rome Reports, captures how personally meaningful the crucifix is to Francis, and how moved he was to be speaking to a group of people who have dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ and the Gospel. The pontiff especially singled out those who were from Iraq and Syria and mentioned the witness of the martyrs there.
