VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis on Sunday expressed his prayerful solidarity with the victims and families involved in Friday's three terrorist attacks in Francis, Kuwait and Tunisia.
In separate telegrams sent by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin to representatives of the Holy See and involved parties in the three countries, the Holy Father said he was united in prayer with the relatives of the victims, especially those who have lost family members.
The Holy Father offered his “fervent prayers for the victims and for all who mourn.” He also expressed his condolences to those who were wounded and to their families, praying that the Lord might give them “comfort and consolation in their trials.”
In his message to France and Tunisia, the Pope again condemned “the violence which causes so much suffering” and prayed that God “might grant them the gift of peace.” In his telegram to Kuwait, he encouraged the Kuwaiti people “not to lose heart in the face of evil,” and invoked “upon the nation the consoling and healing love of the Almighty.”
Pope Francis concluded his messages invoking “divine blessings” on the families of the victims and for the people of the three countries.
