Zoe Romanowsky - published on 06/11/15

"Missa Papae Francisci" marks the 200th anniversary of the restoration of the Jesuit order

On Wednesday of this week, Oscar-winning Italian composer Ennio Morricone premiered a Mass he composed called "Missa Papae Francisci" to mark the 200th anniversary of the restoration of the Jesuit order. A statement put out by the Jesuits said that the 86-year-old composer, who won a lifetime achievement Oscar in 2007, will conduct the Mass at the main Jesuit church in downtown Rome, leading Rome's Symphonic Orchestra and the choirs of the Santa Cecilia Academy and the Teatro dell'Opera. Pope Francis was not expected to be in attendance.
