Lent is a season of transformation, forgiveness, and God’s grace, and Rosario Rodriguez’s story is a powerful testament to all of it. When she was 14, she was attacked by a serial rapist and killer but she miraculously escaped. Later, as an adult, she was leaving a friend’s house when a woman robbed her and shot her in the chest. The bullet missed Rosaio's heart by a centimeter and it took many hours of surgery to repair the damage to her esophagus and lungs. Her doctors said her survival of the bullet was miraculous. They also said she’d spend at least two months recovering in the hospital — but she was released after 10 days.
