Empathy is the ability to understand and share in the feelings of another and research has shown that it’s is one of the most important things to instill in children. Empathy is at the root of tolerance and understanding—it helps prevent bullying and promotes cooperation and kindness. Children learn empathy best when adults model it and provide opportunities to build it. This video brings home how little we know about what others are experiencing and presents us with a question: Would you treat people any differently if you had a window into what they're going through?
