San Diego Bishop Cirilo Flores is in a Los Angeles hospital being treated for prostate cancer, according to the Diocese of San Diego. Doctors haven’t determined how extensive the cancer is.
Bishop Flores suffered a stroke in April, and the diocese stated that the bishop is still dealing with the effects of that stroke.
Bishop Flores, who was ordained in 1991, has a law degree from Stanford University and is a California native.
