General Motors announced today that it is recalling 300,000 Chevrolet Cruzes from 2011 and 2012.
GM spokesperson Alan Adler said that a problem in the braking system can lead to intermittant failure of brake assistance, which would require drivers to press harder on the brakes to slow down.
“GM is aware of 27 alleged low-speed crashes but no injuries related to brake performance, which could include this issue,” Adler said in an email, according to CNN Money.
Owners of 2011 and 2012 Chevrolet Cruzes should take their vehicle to a Chevrolet dealership which will replace a part free of charge to fix the problem.
